One Life For Christ In 2009
« Thread Started on Jan 1, 2009, 10:21pm »

I have no idea what plans you have for Christ in 2009.

May I suggest an intention for you to consider?

May I challenge you to lead one person to the Lord Jesus in 2009?

I suspect many have been planting for years; sowing the seed, watering and praying for a harvest. Maybe this is the time to be more specific. Perhaps this is the time to make a list of 5 people you believe have seed planted within them, who have been encouraged over time . . . would they be people who might be ready to become a follower of Christ? I don't know about you, but I hunger to be his voice of salvation.

On December 11, I was told of the death of a friend of mine, a woman from our grief group. My heart broke, not only for her death, but also because I had never shared Christ with her. I'll never know her eternal status until one day in the future I cannot name.

For so long and so often I have shared Christ with so many. But not with her. It was an earthshaking moment. I officiated at her funeral service. During the eulogies, I sat alone behind the pulpit and wept.

For several weeks now I've ruminated over my failure. Would you walk with me this year? I'd love to know there are others who will intentionally pray for people, speak for Christ and interpret the Good News so others will come to him.

There's a commercial on the radio here in So Cal. It tells us that people who became millionaires first decided to become millionaires. I can believe it because I know the importance of being intentional. I also believe people who lead people to Christ are people who have intended to do so.

Will you make it your intention to lead someone to Christ?

The next one is the only one we can win.

There's no numbers involved. I hope I didn't mislead you.

I think Sterling understood...no mislead!

Good point, though: if we think of a number, the human tendency is to, once that number has been attained, consider self as having arrived, therefore settling into relax-and-coast mode. One more...one more...one more...one more, until my heart stops and my bones hit the floor!

Weaver, I believe that is also what you are suggesting. Again, thanks for the reminder!

Good thoughts, then, from both of you.

There is something within each of us (Jesus) that maybe no one else can give as effectively as we can. The people we influence, the people who are already drawn to us, may be the most fertile of fields. I'm praying for you all.

Here's a small article I think you might find helpful if you are serious about leading someone to Christ. It all begins with attitude and where our focus lies.

http://www.christianpost.com/Ministries/....-05 /index.html

I took the article from www.christianpost.com. I look to the site several times a week to update what's going on in the Christ community.
