JIGSAW PUZZLE
From time to time -- especially in winter -- I enjoy the occasional jigsaw puzzle. I buy them for next to nothing at garage sales; they come in three categories: new, used, and looked-at. The "looked at" kind are the bargains: puzzles which the previous owner opened, looked at the pieces, and was so intimidated that he closed the box forever, without even bothering to open the plastic bag containing the pieces.
Anyway, there I was, putting together a jigsaw puzzle, and there was this one piece that I couldn't figure out where it went. I completed the border; it didn't go there. Occasionally as more and more parts of the puzzle came together I checked to see if that piece belonged nearby -- but no; it didn't. Finally, the whole puzzle was finished. And that piece was still not in the picture. It was from an entirely different puzzle.
Jesus prayed for His disciples: "They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your Word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world." (John 17:16-18)
By giving us a wonderful world, God has given us a wonderful path on which to take our journey. But we should be aware that we are on the move. This world is not our home. It can feel like home, sometimes, when we meet other members of the church, other pieces of God's puzzle. But this world is not our puzzle-box. The followers of Christ should be incapable of getting locked into the world. We should be always out of place.
Yours in Christ,
Vox

Thanks Vox. In some "circles of fellowship" the piece that didn't belong would be "glued" to the outside border.
